Ever since Sicerio, I’ve been all for anything with the Sheridan name attached to it. Seeing what he’s capable of from his amazing writing and directing in the past, I have to admit I’m a little disappointed after four episodes of Landman so far.

I don’t see any subplot involving them doing anything significant to further the plot

Maybe it’s because I had such high expectations since the movie has all the big names in it, and also because after the incredible expansion into ranch life, I’m venturing into the lifestyle of a developing city. But I feel like Sheridan is having a little too much fun weaving unnecessary scenes with Tommy’s ex-wife Ali Larter and his over the top daughter Michelle Randolph, who was great in 1923.

It’s frustrating to know what he’s capable of, but after only four episodes I still hope he uses Jon Hamm more and this show succeeds

Sheridan is at his best when he’s pushing the action drama pedal, as seen in this second season of Special Ops: Lioness or all of his previous dramas. The mother/daughter scenes are very embarrassing and I hate to say it, but Randolph is just over the top and I don’t trust her acting at all.

I hope this isn’t just another self-indulgent project, much like how the second season of Tulsa King turned into a comedy punctuated by brief moments of great drama (I loved the first season)

I know Sheridan has his own umbrellas and hosts many shows, but I wish he would focus on quality over quantity, because this show has the potential to be excellent if it gets serious.
